Got my latest shipment from the World Beer Tour. Red Biddy Irish Red Ale. The shit just keeps getting better. Dads: Not too late to ask for a membership for Father's Day. It's well worth it.

Thirty dollars a year I wish. My wife pays about $35 per month (tax and shipping included) and for that I get 12 beers (six each of two kinds) every month for six months (at which point I can choose to renew. I will). So far I've gotten four shipments (48 beers) and out of all that have gotten one "bad" selection. It was Petrus, a Belgian ale. Fortunately, that month I received four each of three kinds. I couldn't finish it. I dumped the one I opened and gave the other three away. All the others were excellent. When all is said and done I will have paid $210 for 72 beers (about $3 a bottle.) That's steep for beer, but I think it's worth it, 'cause I love beer (with this club included, i probably spend about $100 a month on beer). I still have at least one of every kind that's been delivered. They're strong. One was 13 percent alcohol and I only drink 'em once in a while. They're definitely not poolside or after-you-mow-the-lawn brews. More like after-the-kids-go-to-sleep, split-a-bottle-with-the-wife, relax-by-the-fire-and-maybe-get-laid variety. When my basement bar-theater is done, I'll keep it stocked warm in a beer cabinet I'm building.

That's a lot of money, that could buy more beer, but if it works for you. I think I'll just stick to my Harp and New Castle down at the pub for a while longer.

Hey, maybe the bottle collection of those different beers will eventually be worth something?
