The Bobcats and the NBA are a joke filled with egotistical jerks (except Tim Duncan :ylsuper: ). Only in the NBA can Allen Iverson be looked upon by young people as a role model

Well the bobcraps just lost me with this desperate marketing ploy. What a debacle of a draft. I could have lived with taking Felton as the best PG available at #5 (though Jack may suprise), but May at 13th was just fucking retarded and desperate.

When the marketing dept starts pumping May & Felton jerseys into the local stores, the farce will be complete.

Guess I can just remain an Emeka fan, but my marginal desire to go see the bobjohnsons in the fancy new digs just dried up.

Hey Ed T - I think JR Reid & Serge Zwikker are available. Better grab'em quick!!

Seems the ABCers are crying hard about this. I think May is a hell of a player. Frankly I think the Bobcats had a damn good draft, but I can agree with Nut that taking May wasn't a need because of Okafor. But pout all you want, because a Tar Heel can get in the NBA, but the player of your choice can't.

Sean may was the f'n NCAA tournament Most Outstanding Player. Yet now everyone badmouths him saying he suck. Uh yeah.... whatever.

the abc'rs whining is getting old. I wish May had played at State or somewhere so people would shut the fuck up. same people probably didn't even give a shit about the Bobcats or NBA before last week. now they want to make the draft a marketing conspiracy.

May brings some size and rebounding to a team that has little of both. he played 3 years wich is like a senior these days, hes won, and he seems like hes got his head screwed on straight. not a bad pick. not saying I would necessarily have picked him, but even the experts on tv were like why is this guy still available. people would have bitched if we took an unknown 18 year old HS player.

If they took Hodge, and Chris Paul my reaction would still be the same. It's so obvious what they are doing and people keep forgetting that this is the NBA and not college, where you listen to Trick Daddy while the team dribbles up the court. It's a joke. The only thing that was more of a joke was when they actually had cartoons going on during the middle of the game. I think that the Bobcats will eventually be decent but I'd rather see almost any team beat them. Even the UNC fans have to admit that this is a desperate marketing ploy. We already have Okafor and Brezec which are two pretty good post players, along with Gerald Wallace who is another power forward. I would have taken Gerald Green or Danny Granger over May any day of the week. May will be a role player and Granger has the potential to be a starter at the 3 position, and guard every position on the floor except center, and Gerald Green is a potential All Star. Regardless of what they did before the NBA, I think May is definitely going to be the worst out of those three in the NBA, but he did have a great college career, and went to Carolina. Could you imagine May on Garnett or May on Duncan, Ming, O' Neal. He'd get abused for at least 30 in each of those matchups. May will start over Brezec though because that is what the fans want to see and is not necessarily what is good for the team. The day the NBA does something that isn't for marketing and is good for the team is the day that I'll buy season tickets.

Good you agree. It was a stupid marketing ploy. They already have Emeka, who is a far superior player that May will not displace.

I can't wait to see their attendance tank thanks to retard moves like this. The parallel to the WhoreNuts taking JR Reid says it all. And the whorenuts needed a player at Reid's position.

    Dumb dumb move.

If The Bobcats could have picked Jawad Williams in the second round everyone knows they would have. You're kidding yourself if you don't think they would. Next year they will take a Duke player in the draft in the second round (I don't think the Bobcats will be good enough this year to climb out of the top 10). I really wouldn't be shocked to see Charlotte grab Justin Gray, J.J. Redick, or Shelden Williams in the next draft.

You can dislike the May pick without having some irrational hate for Carolina - not that some don't. The pick still doesn't make sense when you have huge ass holes at both 2 and 3, regardless of how Carolina fans want to write it off. You draft role players when you have some starters. Sure, we needed some rebounding - you're going to take Okafor off the floor to board better?

Preach it. May's hands will save him being a dud, but his conditioning will haunt him through the grueling NBA season if he ever has to play significant minutes. And while he's sitting on the bench behind Emeka, it might get worse.

I really got hyped up about Granger the last few days before the draft. He just looks like a player. I'd rather have Green after his rookie contract, but the bobcats need a 2G so bad, I woulda pulled the trigger.
