I can see them starting May just because he and Felton are their marketing ploy right now. Everyone will go to the games next year to see the new Arena and to watch the Tarheels play. Should May start, no way in hell, and this is the Bobcats were talking about, not even a good team. Okafor and Brezec are far better in the post, and just because you play center in college doesn't mean that you will play it in the pros. Tons of centers in college are 6-9. Sheldon Williams would get killed at center in the NBA. They will play May because the fans have come to see the Tarheels play, but if they start him on opening night then there is something wrong with that.

True, those are both different years, but Oden is the #1 overall HS player and Mayo #2, but as far as for this class its Josh McRoberts.

I don't think May would play Center in the NBA, but rather Okafor could, and he's proven that, but my question is how do you know Brezec and Okafor would be better than Okafor and May? I honestly don't know that either group would be better than the other. Its quite possible that you are right and Okafor/Brezec is better than Okafor/May, but what do you know about May playing in the NBA that you can base this assertion on?

That's really all I'm getting at is how can anyone say how the player will play when they haven't seen them play at that level. If you base it on previous play then you have to assume he will be a very good player at the next level. What else is there to base it on?

    entirely possible.
I dunno - I'd still be very surprised to see them move Okafor out of the position they want him to be in, full time, for May. If they do, so be it. I'm just not going to bitch, whine, and stomp around on the supposition that "anything's possible." [IMG] I do agree that Okafor and Brezec is what's best for this team right now, despite Brezec's softness on D. I don't think that the best for this team is to move anyone around just for May. If they drafted him to be a backup, so be it, we needed more than a backup. But I'd rather that be so, than us move Okafor out and take away his current role for a lesser player.

I think Brane's stuck on the idea that what we're saying are "opinions", and therefore he's being too goddamned sensitive. I think the opinions are founded on something concrete, whether he wants to hear them or not, but they're still opinions, and I'm wondering why he's having such a hard time with them.

I'm not sure which one of you can argue the same points longer....but it can be entertaining sometimes.

I'm having fun, personally. It's just an opinion, it's not something to get all fucking pissy about, but I'll watch him squirm if he wants to squirm.
