anyone willing to help get new fan up to speed on the team? who are the starters and primary depth as of now; how do you rate them; do they have a good good coaches; do you xpect them to be players in FA (or is that over with?).

FA starts in a couple weeks. Bernie Bickerstaff is the coach and GM. They played hard in almost every game and represented the city really well.

    The players

PG Raymond Felton (you know him)Brevin Knight is a free agent and if resigns will be the starter more than liekly for around the first 15-20 games, he finished 2nd in the NBA in assist last year but he will be a mentor to Ray. Jason Hart is ok but, Bernie and him seemed to clash a little over playing time.

SG- Matt Carroll, Kareem Rush, Jason Kapono, Keith Bogans played last year... expect us to sign a Free agent to start there.

SF- Gerald Wallace is a restricted free agent and will more than likely be resigned unless he signs a contract that is ridiculous and we choose not to match it. not much depth behind him.

PF- Emeka and May the best 12 punch at pf in the league possibly

C- Primoz Brezec 13pts and 6 reb last year in his first ever real playing time.
Melvin Ely a decent young back up...

Not anymore.... He backed up both spots last year. Who do you think played center when Brezec was on the bench or hurt?

The more I think about it, the more I think we can play Okafor and May at the same time.

Most teams don't have tremendous talents at both the 4 and the 5. In fact, nobody really does. Depending on what the matchups are, we could see those two be used interchangably, depending on the matchup, especially since most "centers" these days are guys who aren't 7' - they are just taller guys who can rebound and block shots, or just some stiff.
