    >> It's not too likely that both Weinke and Fasani will get hurt in the same game.

problem is 1) we're playing of the bad stuff next week, and 2) if Weinke gets hurt in a game then you have no backup to Fasani. and Fasani likes to run and he already has an history of injury -- no? so you limit him to handing the ball off? knowing that situation, do you limit weinke to handing off? weinke has been pretty durable so maybe ya take your chances.

really weird about Peete. didn't notice a limp yesterday. anybody know anything about this kinda injury?

Only that you probably wouldn't play on it. Well, of course they planned on him never running. Not to be conspiracy theory, but if it was a "nagging" (and i wouldn't call any ligament tear in a knee nagging) injury that he did in preseason, why in the hell was he named starter right before the season started?

Torn Knee Cartiledge. Swells up when you run. Hurts. I know.

You can play through it if your ligaments are good. Just hurts like hell.

Well, I supported the decision to start Peete to begin the year, but it is now time for Weinke to get back out there (regardless of Peete's surgery). At the time, I believed that Weinke desperately needed to just sit back and watch for a while. He's now had the time to observe and learn without the pressure of starting, and it's now time to see what he's got.

We need to make a decision on QB this off-season, so we have got to find out for certain if Weinke is the man, or if we need to look elsewhere. If he does falter, I wouldn't be surprised to see Fasani in for a game or two at the end of the year just for evaluation (of coarse, that is assuming we are not in the playoff race). But all things being equal, I want Weinke to step up, and Fasani have the time to develop as he should. I really don't want to HAVE to spend an early draft pick on QB.

By the way, what hand is Wall's broken finger on? If it's his throwing hand, I doubt he will be the new #3.

More than likely, if we do not bring anyone in, it would be Byrd. If I remember correctly, he was a HS QB (not sure if he played it at all in college). But it's never a good thing when your QB is also your #3 receiver (and maybe #2 after this week). We could be in trouble.

Well the team needed to see in a different offence whether or not Weinke could lead this team or draft one next year, Mr Weinke, the clock is running what are you going to do with it?

If this team spirals, I guess its time to break out some David Ragone jerserys.

If Weinke steps up, he'll have earned the contract.

All in all, we will have firm direction at quarterback before to long.

Piper with your ACL tear you may or may not have had a tear in your meniscus. I did with mine.

You can play or do much of anything you want with a meniscus tear.... if that's all that's wrong alot of times they don't do anything to it. If it's a slight tear they go in cut the torn part away, punch a few holes in it to see if it regrows but if it's deep as mine was/is they cut it away and leave it alone becuase there isn't much chance of it growing back.

For those of you who don't know what your meniscus does... it is cartilage between your knee bones to provide stability and cushion.

Forget the QB controversy, if we only have 2 legit QBs on the roster, with Hennings history - if you think the his lack of agressive play calling stunk last week, wait till next week when he coaches to "protect" Winky, as someone mentioned above.

This whole deal stinks. Its on the records that Wienke is starting because of injury to Peete. Some are reading in between the lines, thats ok, we all do it. But the fact remains Winky is starting because of injury to Peete.

My biggest concern now is not Fasani, but what Henning lets or does not let Winky do. This is one damn offense that should know after the last 3 weeks... we have got to score in the 20's or more than our current trend.
