    i won't say that unc is better than illinois or vice versa. I was stunned to see my alma mater at No. 1. Shellshocked, but not disappointed.

    But let's put this in perspective. Come tournament time, does it really matter who No. 1 is this week or next? Will it have a huge effect on seeding? Illinois, UNC and Wake are No. 1 seeds, with UK and KU and maybe 2 others fighting for the last spot.

    It still counts and it would still keep you from going 30-0 if you were in the Big 10.
