Someone has registered all of our names. Mvm, piper, me, mailman, wp28, the joker, sandy.

They even registered 3 different 'variances' of my name, and about a dozen of Mag's.

Somebody is mighty preoccupied with us. I wonder if they get our posts stuck in their head when they're trying to spank it at night.

I think Joker is actually a guy over there. it's not Joker, the tailgating Joker, but it's still a guy with that name.

I see a -meatpile- as newest member. I don't see the others, or a list.

Hit the members tab. I just registered as -meatpile-.

Someone else had meatpile, meat pile, and some other variance. Magnus, they really hate you, as there were like a dozen variances of your name.

I just sent this email to the admin, b/c hell he may like to know.

    Hi there.

Apparently, somebody that posts here doesn't like me or any of my friends. If you look at the registered member list, my 'handle', plus that of a guy named Magnus Ver Magnussen (or mvm), piper, Sandman, the joker, mramailman, and wp28 are registered, many several times (mine was 3).

Pretty obvious this was done in some strange attempt to keep us off the board. I found that he *i can't imagine a girl being so wierd* didn't register my name with hyphens before and after, so i registered, primarily to let you know.

I dunno if you care, but there you go.

I never check the email that I registered with, so if you'd like to email me use ****************.com

    Thanks.

Gawd, meat. The forum rules state that you can't post anything over there. I mean, when do you not post 'Any statement or material that contains obscene, vulgar or indecent language or images'?

yeah, I think that's our boy RealPantherMike at it again. He frequents there because he's not been banned there, sorta. he keeps coming back.

I guy named Brad Thomas started an excellent info and discussion site back in the first part of March and once the “official” guys at Panthers.com found it they had a lawyer representing the league contact him. The lawyer apparently advised Brad that he would be sued or something unless he trashed his site because the name was too close to the “official” site name and he was using material (photos for the most part I think) without consent. The guy not only had to delete his layout and all his hard work, he was screwed out of the money that he had to spend for that domain name which he had already purchased. He has a new site up and running now and he had to buy another name and start from scratch only to find that the guys at Panthers.com pretty much copied the one that they forced him to trash. Nice huh? Nothing like getting a potential rival who has more talent and creativity to do your job for you. Below is most of Brad’s post on this matter from his new board.

    >>>>>>>>>> Panthers.com just redid their site... eerily similar to some of my previous designs (coincidence)

take a HARD look at this board, then look at the new Panthers board (WOAH... they actually used the SAME EXACT SOFTWARE as me...)

Remember how the NFL and the Panthers FORCED me to change my domain name RIGHT before they debuted their new site after I had owned the domain name for over 3 months...

    Someone IS watching us... <<<<<<<<<<<

He goes on to say that “imitation is the highest form of flattery” and that is true, but I definitely would not be able to handle what they did to him with the class and restraint that he has shown all along. Since this Brad guy is too big a man to say it I will be happy to . . . . .

SCREW YOU Panthers.com!!! Whether it’s our old pal RealPantherMike or some other annoying small-minded prick I hope you enjoy having that board you stole all to yourselves. I’ll save you the trouble of entering a dozen variations of MY name because I won’t be going there.

Brad had a nice site - but I have to agree with the Panthers for making him stop for one reason only:

If you have a copyright, and someone breaches it, if you don't fight it - you have no case. In other words, if you don't shoot down people like Brad, your copyright is useless, by law. The very nature of having a copyright means that you MUST go after people who even only kinda violate it.

That sucks, but it's the way it is. The new site looks fine.

I also don't think that they copied him. He's not the only web designer in the world - all the other guys know the leading software packages. I'm not dissing the guy- I like his site. But he's no victim.

Anyway - fucking TRPM. That dude rules.

I got no problem with TRPM. I think it's funny as hell what he goes through to carry that torch, all because he was dead ass sure about knee surgeries over that 2 year wives' tale. No one has ever been held out of a year of football for precaution.

I'll give him that. While his designs varied greatly, one looked a great deal like that. Still, I've seen programs output very similar designs with different color schemes.

I'd say 80% of internet message boards go with some form of UBB. Saying this is like saying Brad copied charlotte.com, who copied FuseTalk, who copied...

it sucks what happened to him, though, and despite the bad feelings me and his guys have because I don't like to have people come in here only for reasons of self-promotion, I don't like how everything went down between him and the official people. Still, like Meat said, you gotta know the rules, and you gotta adjust when they say to do so. In the end the only thing that went down was more effort was put forth and cash was lost.
