You just don't get it. You are arguing over something that isn't even so.

If you do a little research, you'll find that as long as the dress code isn't disciminatory and can be linked to a business need and it's applied uniformly, it's both legal and constitutional.

So if the NBA says "we want our players to look professional" and they apply that rule uniformly, they are well within their rights.

can a company fire a guy (or fine him) if he comes to work not dressed how he's supposed to be dressed at work, even if he goes and changes immediately? what if the guy rides a motorcycle or even a bicycle? can he be forced to wear the company attire on the way out of the building till he's gotten far enough away from work to where he is no longer deemed "arriving at work"?

if the nba is really concerned about guys looking bad coming into the arena, then get the media out of the entrances. and do they really expect a guy to play basketball for 3 hours, then shower and throw on a suit for the ride home?

Ask UPS. They have to arrive at work in uniform.

Well the difference is some dude who's walking into a building wearing his bike clothes is different than when Kobe Bryant gets off the bus and there's 5 cameras on him and it says "Lakers G Kobe Bryant"

If you're in a position where you're representing your employer, you can be expected to dress appropriately.

Not according to the law, it isn't. But as mentioned, I suspect that the NBA has consulted with their lawyers and fashioned this in such a way as to skirt the legal issues, but I'd be interested to see what would happen if someone challenged it. And as for the rest, I suppose the problem I have with it is precisely that the dress code has absolutely nothing to do with their occupation. It's just a transparent attempt to fool the public.

If Collin and Mags were having a contest arguing with a wall which of the two do you think would give up first?

My money is on the wall.

I think such comments are deserved and even funny when coming from people who don't behave exactly like Magnus and I do, only lacking the intellect.

But the guy is using his own transportation.

We are talking about riding the team plane, bus or mode of transportation.

Sure if they are driving their own car to the arena, they can wear what they want to wear, but once they are on property of work, then they can be held accountable. Now how strict are they going to be? Dunno, I haven't seen everything concerning the new dress and what applies to what yet. Just have only heard of some basics.
