New Cardinals Ballpark to open in 2006

    I like the outside design, but it looks like the roof is more of an afterthought than an original part of the building. I think if both the Yankees & mets didn't insist on having roofs on their stadiums, new NYC Mayor Bloomberg might've greenlighted both projects. The Jets proposed new Stadium on the West side of Manhatten would be the place where the Final Four, political conventions, and other major events could be held at.

    From today's St. Louis e-fishwrap . . . It looks like the Cards will have a PSL-like program to raise money to help build their new ballpark. I'm sure folks in this baseball mad town will not blink and buy up all of the availble seats.

    I just noticed that part of the new ballpark is on land that is now part of Busch Stadium. Just like the new Reds Ballpark (Great American) was built on part of the old Riverfront Stadium, I guess part of Busch will have to be torn down during construction. I will assume this won't be done until the 2005 season.
