    Are you diabetic?

many MD's will use Neurontin for neuropathy. The only thing i can think of that will help other than meds is doing a good foot message every day to help get the blood flow and oxygen flow down there.

Do you smoke? Think of things you do that limit the amount of oxygen your blood carries... smoking, fatty foods etc...

feet pains from nerve endings problems

FRED, Can you tell me more about Neurontin?
yes, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic about 6 months ago. A foot massage feels great, so does ice packs.
Don't smoke or drink alcohol, thank goodness..... I have lost 40 lb's last 2 years but I could still eat better & smarter.

it's a seizure medicine that a lot of docs are using for chronic pain. supposedly it helps the conduction of impulses from neuron to neuron therefore making sensation in fingers, hands, toes and feet better. but to my knowledge, this has never been proven.

some patients swear by it and some say it doesn't help one bit, but a lot of our diabetics that complain of neuropathy are on it.

oh yeah- I'd avoid the ice packs. the last thing you want to do is slow the circulation of blood to your feet and cold slows circulation.

but don't you have some other medical conditions that play into the picture?

when you look at a condition such as neuropathy, you have to consider other medical ailments and medication cross sensitivity into the grand scheme of things.

I've got it bad, in feet and hands. Permanent side effect of chemo. I take 1800mg of Neurontin and 20 mg of oxycodone a day for it and it still bugs the crap out of me. Let me know if you find anything great for it.

Yes I have nerve damage and nerve root irritation in my lower back. They cant find out what is causing the nerve damage. I have had practically every blood test there is to be had----all came up normal. I wasnt on any kind of medication when this was all found out. Im only on two kinds of meds now and thats the lyrica and vicodin. The vicodin I only take when needed which I try not to take at all if I can help it. Same with the soma. I get to go back next month to have that electrical shock thing done again to see if things are getting worse or getting better. I even had a contrast brain scan done because at one point in time they thought I had MS. There is only one test left to see if MS is hanging around and thats the spinal tap. The way the doc labled my condition is Idiopathic peripheal neuropathy-----meaning something is wrong but they cant find out what.

Yep - they wanted to up it to 800mg 3 times daily, but I said if the 600 3 times a day isn't enough then fuck it.
