Wouldn't call it greed, just planning ahead. The future is online streaming, not rented DVDs. The company's online streaming related expenses are much higher than it's DVD related expenses, thus the need for a price increase. Luckily, there are other options, though I'm not sure any of them offer the selection of Netflix.

Maybe, but I think they pulled the trigger too soon. I travel so much when I'm out of town I like to take a DVD with me, then return it and have one ready when I get home. They don't offer all the selections on my laptop, and even if they start, the laptop doesn't have great sound unless I have to go to the trouble of bringing speakers, hooking them up, and most people still don't have PC capable converters on their TVs.

I don't know that much about the Netflix capable TV, but since I'm hardly ever home, it wouldn't really help me. For now I'll stick to Redbox and Blockbuster kiosks I guess.
