Over last 1.5 yr's, I have lost 40 lb's down to 297. since mid-june, I have gotten even more serious about it...... 4-5 times per week I walk/run 2.5-3 miles in the early evening and also have cut my daily food intake/calories and eating healthier.
Problem is , I seem stuck on 297.

    recommendations? thanks.

Step up your exercise a bit and cut back on calories a little bit. Nothing drastic.

I've dropped 10 pounds in the last month and it actually has something to do with eating more...but better foods.

Since I work 3rd shift, a regular eating schedule is hard to stick to. SoI decided to try and eat 4-5 times a day, just smaller portions of the normal food I always eat and adding in more fruit. The results were fairly quick.
I eaither have fruit or maybe a small bowl of cereal when I get home in the morning, then it's off to bed. Something light when I wake up and then I go to the gym. When I get back from the gym I have been making protien smoothies (see below) then a few hours later its supper time. Just before I leave for work, I'll have a snack and then I take something to work for a mid-night lunch or just pop a bag of popcorn.
The primary result for me was an increase in metabolism, I think.

    SMOOTHIE:
    1 cup skim milk
    1 cup OJ
    1/2 cup yogurt
    1 banana
    4 strawberrys
    1 egg
    1-2 tblsp peanut butter

    blend with ice and serve

Try it, you might like it!

This will sound crazy but I have lost weight and regained it and lost it a again several times so I have some basis for this. Take a week or two off from your diet. Eat all the foods you like and have not had in a long time just go for it. You will gain some weight back probably doing this. Make sure you set a date to cut it off and to get back on your diet. Once you start back be strict again. You will quickly lose what you gained and then pass your plateau. I think it resets your body somehow. There are all kinds of mechanisms you body has to prevent starvation and I do not think we completely understand all of them. This is a way to fool your body. It now thinks you are slowly starving and is trying to hold onto your weight. If it hits a "time of plenty" then it lets go.

This may not work and I am certainly not a doctor or health expert but it is worth a try.

I agree. This seems to work. The 'two steps forward and one step back' idea...
