I thought Virginia Tech should have made the NCAA Tourney field ahead of Wake Forest. Tech's been given the shaft twice now by the selection committee. I guess they need to strengthen their schedule some more.

Agreed - even though Tech's out of conference schedule is garbage, a fourth place finish in the league should have trumped Wake, especially as bad as Wake played down the stretch.

I have to agree with all the "experts", Kansas is in the toughest region. My Final Four:

    Kansas.....they win it all
    Syracuse
    West Virginia
    Villanova

I should go get a job on the selection committee.. I called that Duke would move up possibly to the 3rd #1. I'm sure gottalaff will find something in this post to talk about as well.

VT's out of conference SOS was 344 out of 347 teams. Their overall SOS was 133 with an RPI of 59. That's s shit resume.

They piled up 13 of their 23 wins against the worst teams in the country. They're where they deserve to be.

Neither deserved to be in. Miss St should have been in. They went 11-8 in the SEC with an SOS of 74 and an rpi of 55. They had Kentucky beat twice late in the year and lost the SEC champ on a fluke put back.

Exactly. All I heard today on the ride home was VT fans complaining about not making the tournament. Seth is an idiot as he showed at USF. Sure, he can perform with the ACC draw but he still hasn't figured out how to schedule. Tech has no one to blame but itself with the sorry ass OOC schedule. Sure they are the only 10-6 ACC team to not make the NCAA. But, the wins came against the bottom of the league in a league that was down. The ACC crap wasn't going to help them this year.

Yea, Tech's schedule did hurt them, but I thought they should have made it before Wake. Tech beat Wake in their only game, & finished ahead in the standings. The message coming out from the selection committee is that schools need to play tougher schedules & win a good portion of those games.
