Yeah, this is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. So if FSU makes the NIT this year can they still say Seminoles or would they just not be allowed to have the Indian dancing around?

Apparently from what I can make of it....FSU, Illinois, and any other NCAA school that has an Indian mascot (except UNC-Pembroke--see article for explination) can play the regular season with the mascot and can participate in the post-season, but the only thing that is prohibited is the mascot name, the physical mascot, and the mascot insignias that appear on the uniforms of players, cheerleaders, band, and on band equipment (ex..drums, tuba bell covers, etc..).

Id like to see the list of the schools that can no longer use their names....I gurantee everyone of them will challenge this decision all the way to the Supreme Court. The only person to blame for all this crap is NCAA president Miles Brand is a stupid idiot for this, the same Miles Brand who fired Bob Knight at Indiana.

I am trying to figure out how Illinois, Utah, Arkansas, or anyother state named after an indian tribe would be allowed to play either.
