It's called offense and our lack of it. There were so many times that our offense put our defense in terrible positions. Part of the problem is coaching as well........

N.C. State didn't rank in the top ten in yardage allowed or the top twenty in points allowed despite playing a schedule full of cupcakes.

Collin, UNC-Ch scored 14 points on 5 yards of total offense against NCSU for example. How is that to be blamed on the defense? Honestly, go back and watch our games and you will see that the offense gave up almost as many points as our defense did. I won't excuse all the issues on just that though. There were some definite coaching issues surrounding discipline and play calling. Some might say that discipline is all on the players but when you see the same stupid mistakes over and over, I think that goes to the coaching.

Amato and everyone like to thump their chests about being #1 in defense a couple of years ago, but when your offense fumbles it away at their own 20 yard line every other possesion, the opposing offense just doesn't have a chance to rack up lots of yardage before scoring.
