RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Greg Golden returned an interception 71 yards for a touchdown and Manny Lawson’s blocked punt led to another score as North Carolina State beat Texas Tech 49-21 despite allowing 681 yards Saturday.
The Wolfpack (2-2) didn’t suffer a mental letdown following a triple-overtime loss at Ohio State last week and a fall from the polls, bolting to a 21-0 halftime lead.
N.C. State blew a 28-point lead at Texas Tech (2-1) last season and eventually won 51-48 in overtime.
There was no comeback this time as the Red Raiders wasted a school-record 586-yard passing day by B.J. Symons with a bevy of errors.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Redshirt freshman Booker Stanley rushed for three touchdowns as Wisconsin bounced back from one of its worst losses in coach Barry Alvarez’s 14 seasons by beating North Carolina 38-27 Saturday.
One week after turning the ball over five times in a stunning 23-5 home loss to UNLV that sent the Badgers tumbling out of the Top 25, Wisconsin (3-1) took advantage of the nation’s worst defense.
Lee Evans caught five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown and surpassed Al Toon’s school record for career receptions. He now has 134 catches, three more than Toon had from 1982-84.

TT turned the ball over way too many times. NCSU did find a good backup runner in Josh Brown (Crest HS).

larry, nice correction. I saw the title of the thread and rushed in here to correct you. Whenever UNC Chapel Hill is worst at something, someone needs to scream it from the mountain tops. I have made it know several times in this forum that UNC HAS THE WORST DEFENSE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL!

btw UNC fans, another ass kicking today. :)

I heard the other day that UNC was ranked DEAD LAST in defense

    #316.

I think maybe after today they moved down a few more notches.

Next week's game ought to be a fun shootout. I mean, only if State wins.
