Once is an exception, twice is a trend, and three times is a pattern; but N.C. State's scheduling record is a set in stone, no doubt about it, Class A pussification. Amato has all but admitted that he schedules cupcakes to boost his team's record (I will say that I think Bunting is stupid for scheduling so many tough games, as a couple will help you but too many will kill your confidence), but no one will respect State until they play even a decent non-conference schedule. N.C. State's non-conference schedule would undoubtedly be the easiest in the NCAA over the last three years or more, especially for a major conference team.

That is all good and well, but don't act like Bunting doesn't do the same thing. He's all but admitted using the same philosophy as well because of the conference schedule.

And you know, there's a reason why better teams will schedule games with Carolina and they won't schedule games with State. I'll let you figure that one out. State has basically had to take what they can get in several instances.

No one really knows what goes on with AD's and coaches and schedules and who plays when and who's good now and all that. It's just as silly to give credit to Bunting for all the 'tough' scheduling the last few years as it is to ridicule Amato for the 'easy' scheduling because neither one was around to have anything to do with it.

FWIW, if Fowler/Amato are deliberately scheduling patsies without one head-turner a year, I think they're nuts. I can't fault them from the recruiting standpoint, but damn, don't you want to know how good your program is? I would think they do, which is why I don't think they go out of their way to get all 'easy' games.

Dude, if you're going to post, at least try to make sense. UNC had the toughest schedule in NCAA history last year, and while they certainly didn't expect Utah and Louisville to be as good as they have been, Bunting has always scheduled a ridiculous amount of hard ass non-conference opponents. Obviously Wisconsin (who we've played twice) is never a pushover, but we've also had Texas, Miami of Ohio, and Arizona State twice in recent years. Plus we thought Syracuse would still be good when we scheduled them. Hell, the only Eastern Kentucky-type we've had in the last five years was William & Mary last season.

No one has ever ducked State because no one fears State. Everyone knows they've always been ridiculously overrated because of their bloated record that comes from feasting on patsies.

Your patting yourself on the back for Miami of Ohio, all the while claiming Amato only schedules "patsies". Bull Shit. OHIO STATE TWICE, TEXAS TECH TWICE, SOUTHERN MISS this year. Hey Chuck hasn't been there that long.

Oh sorry we have to play the patsy THIS WEEK. They are IN conference. Sorry, have to play them.

Ohio State is the only good non-conference team you've ever played. Texas Tech is ok, but nothing special. And Southern Miss? SOUTHERN MISS? Wow, you know you're desperate when you're bragging about how tough Southern Miss is. For Christ's sake, you've scheduled New Mexico, East Tennessee State, Navy (the year they were 2-10), Texas Tech, Massacusetts (so bad that they've left Div I football), Western Carolina, Ohio State (the only ballsy move), Connecticut, Kansas, Richmond, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Southern Miss, and Middle Tennessee State.

Hey, you guys can brag about your recruiting because you have done phenomenally well in that respect, but don't outright lie and say that you guys haven't had some ridiculously easy non-conference schedules. I would be embarrassed if my team was that cowardly. And while we're at it, don't forget that UNC has dominated you over the last decade, and won the match-up last season. You guys look to be the better team this season, but you've got a long ass way to go to even up the series.
