I don't blindly defend anyone who is employed by NCSU. I just don't have the opinion to fire a guy when I don't know the situation off the court or the field. A couple of things I've seen this year:

    1. I'm ready for Hodge to be gone. If he wasn't such a big-mouth to the media it wouldn't be so bad, but he's worn out his welcome. We've got good depth behind him, and he plays more minutes than he's worth. All this is ironic since he's really not doing that much worse than his POY season, but he's not leading the team at all.

    2. Herb has either lost the attention of his team, or he has sucked the life out of this team with his structured approach. The former might merit consideration in a job review, but the latter is something he can fix. For God's sake, let them play. They look like they dread bringing the ball up the court.

    3. Herb either won't make adjustments, or isn't prepared to make adjustments during the game. That's what appears to be happening. I'm not a basketball guy, but even I could see the same in-bounds play against Maryland the whole second half. It didn't seem to work any better at the end than it did the beginning. I just don't understand his thinking. I can't say he should be fired because I don't understand his methods. But if Fowler can't be convinced of them by Herb, then let him go.
