Randy Shannon? Jimbo Fisher? Each could as well have their own programs bigger than State's.

Mickey Andrews at F$U could probably have one as well but he doesn't. Not every assistant is cut out for the head job and not all even want to be the head coach. Now I think the chances that State picks up both of these guys is slim, but not impossible.

Y'all don't need to get so defensive at Magnus. His statement still stands regardless of how many other examples you come up with.

I'm don't mean to be defensive, and he does make a good point. I think I do as well. It just seems on these boards that any NC State fan wishing and hoping for good things to happen gets shot down by others who "know what they're talking about"

Hoping and wishing is one thing; it's the believing without rationale that gets you thrown under the bus here.

So it seems ;) But I don't think that the belief of Randy Shannon and/or Jimbo Fisher is without merit. I belong to rivals.com premium and there is a lot of rumors about all of this on NC State's site, LSU's site and Miami's site. Could it all be true, maybe. Could it all be false, maybe. Guess we'll see. But here's to hoping that it all does happen.

Hey, if State lands them, great. But they won't be happy here if they come, and they won't stay long even if they are. Especially Shannon, without a reason to leave.

And yes, Chow's a great example. Greener pastures. You can say "oh look, we landed Norm Chow", and great for you, but then you have him how long? A guy like Shannon should be coaching LSU. Fisher probably didn't get a fair shot at the job whether he wanted it or not.

Andrews, honestly, should probably be the head coach at FSU right now. Guys like Amato get tired of waiting.
