Cause there is at least one guy who cares about the NBA in the Carolinas. Its been a pleasure to watch Kobe play thusfar. I haven't been able to catch all of the two games, because I was traveling, but I think with the hate directed towards the NBA, we don't always see how great Kobe is. He's not MJ, and will never be, but I think by the time its all said and done he's going to be better than Bird, better than Magic, and only behind MJ and Wilt. Not bad company. Not to mention Lebron might be knocking on that door very soon.

Anyone giving the Magic any shot now that they are down 2-0?

Magic missed a golden opportunity last night, I don't give them much of a shot from here on out. Especially if Kobe goes Kobe, he didn't seem to assert himself much last night. I don't like the guy but he's the best player I've seen other than MJ, definitely agree with your assessment that he's going to be better than Magic/Bird when all is said and done. For all the talk of the Yankees being the dominant franchise in all of sports, in most of our lifetimes the Lakers have been the dominant franchise. Pretty impressive when you consider how much better the West has been than the East in the last decade +, the Lakers have been in the Finals over half the time since the early 80's. Their superiority is pretty impressive, although they flat out stole Gasol last year to help rebuild the team.

Huge win by the Magic tonight, they played much better with a PG in, go figure. Alston finally had a decent game, but if it wasn't for some amazing shooting and some really stunning bonehead plays by Kobe down the stretch, the Lakers would have won this game too. Hard to visualize MJ turning the ball over like that with a min left in an NBA Finals game, also hard to imagine him bricking a huge FT. Kobe's still got a ways to go if he wants to be in the same breath as MJ.

Still, Magic will be hard-pressed to play like that three more games, which is what it will likely take. Would be fun to see what happens if the Lakers fail to show up on Thurs though, maybe we'll have a series.
