there are a handful of press and at least one representative from each team, plus one of those weird lawyers from those accounting firms that show up for these kinds of things, plus probably a number of other operators and shit to actual do stuff.

the only way to fix it would be to rig the machine to output the specific ping-pong ball combination you wanted. if that were even doable, it would require a few people plus all the people you'd need to talk to in order to even facilitate such a scam. unless those people were then killed, they'd be a huge liability to have running around. they could demand millions from stern.

there's no way the owners would willingly allow stern to pick who gets the top lotto selection and they collectively have billions of dollars tied up in their franchises. they'd sue fast as shit if they thought the league was crooked.

no, a conspiracy just doesn't make sense. the nba just doesn't need to go there -- it would be way too risky for such little reward. the hornets had a 14% chance of grabbing the #1 spot. the bobcats had the best chance at 25%. basically, nobody was a shoe-in for the #1 spot.

If the NBA was going to rig it, it would have been for Charlotte. If not for the arena I think they'd be in serious danger of being contracted.

It makes sense to go for the best available big man and that will likely be Robinson. I wish we had a second first round pick this year instead of last year.

crooked in what way? any amount of coordination requires exposing yourself to too much risk. all it takes is one guy to get busted and the whole thing would unravel. if donaghy had information about anybody else, you can be damn sure he'd have tried to cut a deal in exchange for testimony.

the nba simply doesn't need that headache.

Probably a little bit of both.

Robinson is a better offensive player, whereas Anthony Davis is a much better version of Biyombo. If the Cats keep the #2 pick then they should definitely take Robinson over MKG.

Maybe I am crazy but I am liking Sullinger. Maybe they could trade down and take him? A big guy who can score would make an impact for this team.
