Thanks for all that PP. I guess if we get top 3 we have to take Sean May's replacement a couple of years early. Shitty class, we need a star at the wing. Wish we would sign a VC or DWade or LeBron next year but I won't hold my breath.

When is the lottery? Should be pretty soon I'd guess. We'll probably get #1 and get screwed next year when Oden comes out :banginghe

If I've gotta draft in this draft I take Roy. I think he'll be the best for the need. I'd consider Aldridge because he can also play Center.

This draft doesn't have a player at 2 or 3 (Our needs) that really jumps out. I wonder if the Bobcats could trade down or out and pick up a more proven player now that they have a full salary cap

    This guy is intriguing
    Maurice Ager G MSU
Draft Projection: Mid to late first round

Positives: Ager can shoot the lights out with NBA 3-point range. He can shoot both off the dribble and off the catch. He's a fantastic athlete with great quickness and hops. He can be both an explosive driver and finisher. To top it off, he's a great kid and a hard worker.

Negatives: He's a little undersized to play the two in the NBA. Scouts believe he's closer to 6-foot-4, though a long wingspan will make up for some of that. Still needs to work on his ball handling and defensive effort.

Scouts Inc. evaluation: Ager is one of the top wing players in this year's draft. He is an explosive perimeter guy who can slash to the basket, and he also is one of the better deep-range NBA 3-point shooters in this year's draft. That combination makes him one of the more complete offensive wings available.

He knows how to play off his defender and can score coming off screens. He will score on kick-outs and spot-ups, and he can run and score in pick-and-roll situations. What makes him such a valuable player is his ability to handle the basketball. He can play both guard positions and this will give his team many options on offense.

With his length and athleticism, Ager is a very good rebounding two-guard, which separates him from many in his position. Ager may be a little small for the shooting guard position, but his versatility to make shots and also be a secondary ball-handler will allow teams to use him in multiple positions.

His stock has fallen in some people's eyes, but don't be surprised if he is taken between picks 15 and 20.

Summary: No one's stock took a bigger jump than Ager's at the Maui Invitational. He was considered a marginal NBA prospect after just a so-so junior year at Michigan State, but he really shined in this season's opening tourney. He's been up and down since then. When his shot is falling he looks like a potential lottery pick. When it isn't, the rest of his game seems to come apart too.

    Scouting Report
Career to date: Posted 24.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals as a high school senior in Detroit. Shot an incredible 91 percent from the free throw line. Helped lead the Michigan Hurricanes to the AAU Tournament of Champions in North Carolina in May 2001, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Missed a portion of his freshman year at Michigan State due to injuries. Averaged 6.7 points in 17.1 minutes per game on the campaign. In six postseason contests, tallied 11.0 points per game. Member of the USA Basketball Junior World Championship Team that posted a 7-1 record in Greece the following summer, averaging 6.6 points and 3.0 rebounds. Scored 8.5 points and corralled 3.2 rebounds coming off of the bench as a sophomore. In Big Ten contests, he ranked 10th in 3-point field-goal percentage (.404).

Scouting Report: An incredible athlete who plays above the rim ... Excellent finisher going to the bucket ... Puts points on the board in a hurry, though he can get trigger happy off the dribble and needs to work on his shot-selection ... Probably has never met a shot he did not like ... Surprisingly accomplished perimeter marksman despite his age and athletic ability ... Can get hot and erupt from 3-point range ... Needs to improve consistency ... A terrible passer ... Terrific rebounder at 6-4.

Stat Stuffer: Scored a season-high and team-best 16 points vs. Florida in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament as a freshman. As a sophomore, posted a season-high 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting (6-6 3Ps) in 26 minutes against Northwestern. Scored 18 on 7-of-9 shooting against Ohio State and 17 on 6-of-8 shooting (4-5 3Ps) in 19 minutes against Kansas. In all but two games, recorded one or no assists. In the other two games, registered just two assists. Incredibly, he finished second on the team in blocked shots with total of eight.

Fun Fact: Ager was the first recruit from Detroit's Public School League in the Tom Izzo era.

Six Degrees of MJ: Ager's former Michigan State teammate Al Anagonye played for the Spartans with Mateen Cleaves, who competed on the Detroit Pistons with Jerry Stackhouse, who played on the Washington Wizards with Michael Jordan.

I hope we go with a SG, but either spot works for me, hopefully Noel doesn't get drafted late 2nd round and gets a tryout for the team.
