Bobcats projected #9 and receive a foriegn guy no one has ever heard of and will no doubt suck. Probably won't be a season anyway :clown7:

    Mock Drafts

    9. Charlotte Bobcats: Jan Vesely, SF, Partizan
The Bobcats need to start swinging for the fences and have a few opportunities to do so at the wing position in Vesely, along with the players projected in this mock to go 10th and 11th.

Vesely is probably the best ‘basketball’ athlete in the draft and can become one of the game’s best slasher/spot-up players.

    Jonas Valanciunas
I like him more than Kanter. His body is not as developed but he is quicker, and more fluid athlete and I think he finishes much better. He will be best if he plays with a good PG, handles passes in the lane well, catches alley oops. He is good at getting out and running, makes a lot of athletic plays, good motor but gets into foul trouble which is a good sign from a international player. Even though he is thin he is young enough for his body to develop. A good enough outside shooter to keep opposing teams honest. NBA level length and athleticism.

A lot of unknows with Jonas, definitely a project and will need a lot of coaching. Tape that I have seen have been making athletic plays where the pg creates and he finishes. He will be best at PF where he can have mismatches with his athleticism, but he needs post moves and more strength for defense and rebounding.

Unfortunately he reminds me of Yi Jianlan out of China a few yrs ago. No doubt he has the length and athleticism scouts want. If he plays right away he will have to respond to the physical mismatches and improve, or like Yi he could get discouraged by being overpowered and lose playing time and confidence. If I drafted him I would bring him along slowly and have him study Pau Gason religiously. The potential is there.

    9. Charlotte Bobcats -- Kawhi Leonard, SF, San Diego State. The Bobcats would love to discover a reincarnation of a young Gerald Wallace. They might have had to win the lottery to accomplish that feat, but at least Leonard is better than what they have.

If they want a big man who can score, which something they lack outside of the occasional game when Diaw decides to play, then a european guy is the most likely pick.

They ought to go BPA though for sure. It is not like they are a contender looking for a final piece of the puzzle.

i've seen video of that lithuanian dude. nothing much in the way of basketball skills, just catching the ball near the hoop and putting in a dunk or maybe 3 footer. didn't see any dribbling or shooting per se. he might have it, but he looks like a marcin gortat more than a dirk nowitzki.

not sure what you can expect with the #9 pick this year, tho. that's late-ish in a good year, and this year is far from good.

and they do need a big man who can run the floor, this guy seems like he might fit that role. of course, i think he's also under contract in europe so he might not be an instant add...

I wonder if there is any way they could move up into the top two? The two first rounders they have probably would not be enough. Maybe throw in one of next year's picks too?
