Absoultely right. That was the first thing I noticed. Baron Davis looks like a homeless person who finally got a shower. carmello nice tattoos on display. On top of that, how many of these dipshits even have college degrees? These clowns are arguing over millions and millions of dollars. Look the part, be the part. The more I think about this lockout I want them to cancel the season. All of it. These guys need to learn the definition of employer and employee. There are plenty of college players that would be foaming at the mouth to have a chance to make 1/4 of what these guys make. let this generation of old players go away. In that picture there is 100 million in salary for this season in the 8 players shown. and the fans get to foot the bill for this shit. the system is broken and needs to be fixed but we get to hear these entitled fucks cry about it.

A local sports radio host was talking about this yesterday afternoon. He mentioned that 6 months before the NFL season was threatened by a possible lockout his phone lines were blowing up with pissed off people, etc. So far regarding the NBA strike no one has called and this is less than a month before the season should start.

the nfl is more popular than the nba. plus, the nfl season is 16 games. each one is really important. the nba runs 82 games. they don't hit broadcast television until the nfl season is wrapping up. if the nba season started in jan and ran for 40 games, i don't think the casual fan would notice or care.

I used to be an avid fan of the NBA, but find it very hard to care about the product that's on the floor now. There are so many things that need to be changed about the NBA and even MLB while we are talking about pro sports other than the NFL.

would that waning interest coincide with the departure of the hornets?

the horrific, lopsided, officiating that caters to manufactured stars and big market teams might be one reason for declining interest. or the exorbitant prices of tickets. also the prevailing entitlement attitudes of the players who need a giant reality check.

yahoo sports has a touching article about the poster boy for out of control salaries kevin "motherfuckin" garnett and how he is willing to sacrifice his 20mil paycheck and has more to lose than anybody.please. hit the reset button on these demanding assholes. they can and will be replaced in a few years anyway.

The NBA is a flawed product. The league markets individuals rather than teams, these players are given preferential treatment officiating-wise, and the top players seem to be directed to the big markets ( LA / Miami / Boston /Chicago). Small market teams have zero chance.
Put in a hard cap , add a franchise tag, and have the lottery held live on camera, not in some back room.
