SE Washington along the river front has been rebounding over the last few years with more government offices (Department of Transportation being the main anchor) and quite a few commercial/residental projects being built in the area. With the 'Nats new ballpark opening up next year, this area is going to blow up. I wish I had some money to buy up some of the rinky/dink buildings that are still up around the ballpark. I would buy them in a second and turn them into a bar/restaurant and make me quite a bit of money :) :) (kinda like what you have around Wrigley Field, though you wouldn't have direct views of the field)!!!!!!!!!

The last photo is the parking garage that is being built for the ballpark. I think part of the nearby Subway Station (Navy Yard) is being redesigned to handle the extra inflow of fans who will be going to the ballpark via METRO. That is a big ditch they've got there :) :) !!!!!!

Saw the Nats play earlier this year against the Indians and I can honestly say RFK is a fucking dump. Good riddance on it getting bulldozed

Yeah, I saw a lot of little things (chipping paint on roof supports, missing door handles to bathroom, etc.) that showed RFK is really starting to show its age. But I think it might have another few years left in her if DC UNITED of the MLS don't get their new stadium deal in place soon (supposedly, its going to be built on the Anacostia side of town). A deal was to have been done by now, but it sounds like DC politics (which took forever to cement the ballpark deal) is slowing the process down.

Looks like it will be a nice park. Now if they could only find a real MLB team to play there all would be right with the world (other than the visiting team that is).

Good for that area. Fair or not, I've never been to Southeast and probably never would have if not for this development.
