    So, was Nate's death really tragic, where he was just a big screwed up mess and left 2 women holding the bag, or did he die upon achieving a level of peace and honesty about himself?

    i dunno. it seems to me that nate tended to "find himself" when it was convenient to escape some mess he'd made. personally, it seems to me he was just very self absorbed and was not too concerned with anything but how he felt at the moment. the only person he seemed to realy care about was maya, but then he cared about her in such an overt way it was almost like he did it more for himself than for her.

    so trajic? yeah, for those around him. i don't think you can say he reached peace and honesty without him addressing his fundamental character flaws.

    i do think the whole "geen funeral" thing might present itself later (like during his funeral arrangements). i wonder how that'll play out.

    they should have had nate's tree be the logo tree. i suppose it still could be -- they're really circumspect about actually showing it, but my impression is that the area is more wooded than the lone tree in the open...
