Yep, make dat 2 teams that want to move down. Houston and Cincy. Rogers to Detriot would seem like a lock - but Millen may not value WR that much.

Either way the Panthers could go to #3 (Houstons pick) fairly cheap and choose from Palmer, Leftwich or Rogers.

    Get the RB in FA.

Shit, the only reason that Rogers wouldn't go to Cincinatti with the first pick is they got so damn many pressing needs on their lines, etc. Their WR's aren't bad.

I really believe that Cincy covets Kennedy. If Houston moves down - then look for Cincy to move down to Chicago's pick with the Bears getting in front of someone for Palmer. Cincy then gets there man at 4 in Kennedy. Still think Houston moves down and takes Suggs or they could go Gross. Either way they could come down to 9th and get either there.

Heard a rumor the other day that Carson Palmer may demand a trade instead of going to Cincy, and who could blame him. That would shake things up a little.

Frankly Larry Johnson does not look like a guy who will be anything more than durable, serviceable "middle-drawer" talent in the NFL. We already know Stephen Davis is a top-drawer NFL RB and he would instantly upgrade a position for us. The surgery to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder went well and no long-term problems are anticipated.

Some team hoping to draft MaGahee could now see Davis as the 2nd best option. Unlike LJ Willis is (was) one of those "special" immediate impact players. It will be a while before we know about Foster but in a worse case scenario with him not returning in 2003 that makes getting Davis a high priority IMO.

With no MaGahee or Foster (or Lamar), Davis seems like a MUST HAVE acquisition to me. Spending our 1st pick on LJ would be bad value and there will either be a QB or WR with higher NFL potential where we are picking.

Disagree on LJ. He is an impact player at the next level. I would love to get Davis however then maybe grab Andre Johnson and look QB in round 2. So many ways to go ATP so maybe the Panthers just maximize FAgency and then fill holes in the draft after we know our biggest needs. If the QBs and Andre are gone - Larry Johnson becomes a viable pick IMO.

Speed? No. Not speed. He might run it hard in the Big 10 but so did Dayne. And no matter how fast his private strength coach makes him run he's not going to have moves.
he fluctuates wildly in big games, and while he's got the power, I just can't be convinced he's worth a top ten pick just because he's a big back and we're without a starter.

Tell the truth still don't like him. He puts up OK numbers because he looks like an amazing athlete for a TE but he's really just a receiver. So it doesn't at all faze me that his 225 lb ass got Pro Bowl mention, still need someone who can do the double duty.
