Charlotte Disturber had Fox saying that in this offence that a power back was more important than a wide receiver or quarterback. That getting a good runningback via free agency was harder than getting either QB or WR. That statement has me worried. Larry Johnson

I don't remember that PP. Not saying you're wrong, I don't remember a lot of shit. You got a link to that?

I have no faith in this coaching staff assembling a quality offense. We will go into training camp with RODNEY PEETE as our starter, I'm convinced of it. Futhermore, we need play makers at WR, and a serious upgrade to our O-line. I do think the O-line and RB situation will be addressed but I doubt we'll see improvement anywhere else.

    >> 1. Trade makes some sense because they both get what they want, but it'd take Chicago absolutely having to have Palmer and Cincy faking like they had to have him.

just a feeling but i think they are already in love with someone -- don't know that's Palmer. my gut is that it is Leftwich. CHI is in a tuff position. even if Manning comes out, the three QBs could go 1, 2 and 3 via trades as i think each of the top 3 teams would be willing to trade. the 3 QBs are hot commodities in this draft. Don't think DET is so enamored with Rogers that they wouldn't trade down. there is going to be lots of bluffing going on and CHI could blink and trade up.

i think you're right in that the O-line and RB will be addressed but there is no way that they don't address WR and QB too. QB has to be our priority. WR has to be near top of our wish list. there will be lots of posturing and don't think that Fox and Hurney are immune to doing a little themselves. the curious thing to me is if they will address the defense. it was awful good but probably not complete. with Fox's penchant for defense first, will we use a first round pick on D? wouldn't surprise me at all. would make me vomit . . . to use Meat's word.

if the head honchos absolutely must have a power back in round 1, then Lee Suggs makes more sense than Johnson...at least to me. He came back strong from his knee injury. Suggs in round 1 and Ragone falling to round 2 would be a decent scenario, or maybe Dorsey in round 3. Either way, we need to retain Peete or sign a proven FA veteran QB (not Jake or Kordell). Maybe we could be to Brian Griese what the Giants are to Collins, hehe. Anything is possible at this point, but we definitely have needs at practically every offensive position.

Yeah, I like Suggs quite a bit too. I wonder what kind of value he presents to us at 9 though. RB is arguably the top need pick, its pretty obvious that Johnson is somewhat of a reach at 9, so a trade down may be in order.

I'm having a bit of a problem understanding why no one here likes Larry Johnson. He is a power back with speed who will get nothing but better in time. He is already a damn good back. He can catch it and run with power or speed. He is also a flat out warrior and doesn't except mediocrity.

He isn't/wasn't as refined a runner as McGahee but Johnson can be a great back one day. We passed on an Eddie George type back once. I don't want to do it again. Johnson makes the most sense right now IMO. We can get a developmental QB or WR in rounds 2 and 3.

As long as we get a weapon on offense and a guy with this kinda upside - I don't think we can complain to loudly.

This is of course assuming Rogers, Manning, Leftwich, Palmer and Andre Johnson are gone. An Andre Johnson vs Larry Johnson choice would still be a close one IMO. I like Andre quite a bit too though and wouldn't cry about either.

I would tend to agree with panthersrool though. Trade back just a bit if possible. I wouldn't trade behind the Pats though. Looks like A. Smith is gone for them and I don't see them passing on Johnson if he is there.

I have no problem with Larry Johnson... just wouldn't draft him with the #9 pick... I'd trade down pick up a couple picks and then take him

  9. now that mcgahee is gone, detroit will take rogers or trade down....hakim's injury could be career ending and they might opt to cut the ever injured crowell...their real need is at CB and LB...Ricks is a pro-bowl alternate...

  10. depends what they do in FA...they need LBs and CBs.
