I agree, I know they do make fun of some of the same topics, but from a totally different perspective and of course characters.

I have like pretty much all of the "My Name is Earl" episodes, but "The Office" is hit or miss at times.

Like Fred, I guess I am so used to seeing a lot of those characters in my past line of work.

but it is the typical sitcom. it's as painful as watching rodney or yes, dear or the one with jim belushi or any of that other non-sensical garbage. i like to have to find the humor behind the humor ala the british version of the office, little britain, arrested development, weeds, six feet under, dead like me, absolutely fabulous, trailer park boys, extras....that sort. i don't get off on being bottle fed stale, over-used comedy. you can put the dialogue from my name is earl into any network sitcom and have the same show.

but, that's my opinion and i guess it's different from the majority. been there many times before. i must like it. :)

Brett Butler was on the Bob & Tom show, she played her mother in the one episode saying "Don't you judge me" all the time. Anyway, she said something to the effect of a woman that beautiful should not be that funny and that she makes traiker trash appealing.
I laughed at first, but found it to be a serious statement. She's right on both counts.

"Earl" has been shutdown for a couple of weeks due to Jason Lee getting the chickenpox.
