    13. Washington Taylor Jacobs WR Florida-way early, but the SteveSkins need a wideout

    14. New England Larry Johnson RB Penn St-unhappy with Smith's output, the Pats look to upgrade

    15. San Diego Jordan Gross OT Utah-Brees will be more effective standing upright

    16. Kansas City Mike Doss S Ohio St-Chiefs have to stop somebody before they can advance to the playoffs

Nice effort. I am always a proponent of a trade down as we need more bodies on offence

    >>1. Cincinnati Jimmy Kennedy DT Penn St

If he's their best player on the board. Best opportunity will be to trade down. If it were me, there'll probably be someone like Ty Warren or Jonathan Sullivan at the top of 2, along with the pick in trade to get a personality at LB like Bradie James.

    >>2. Detroit Charles Rogers

    That pick's been made, yes.

    >>3. Houston Terrell Suggs

If not a trade, I'd say this is penciled in. Defensive linemen in the 3-4 are critical, but not first round material. Pass rushers like this are.

    >>4. Chicago Carson Palmer QB So Cal

Don't think they could turn him down, no matter what they do at QB.
***However I'd imagine that #3 would be traded if Palmer's still there.

    >>5. Dallas Terrance Newman CB

Makes sense. Somewhat local guy who has lockdown ability. But has Parcells relied on the lockdown corner? Probably not, in recollection. So it comes down to Newman being the best defender. Too much money into wideouts to make that pick.

    >>6. Arizona Byron Leftwich QB Marshall-

Having McCown and getting a Delhomme or other FA might scare them away, especially since this staff's on their last legs and with a new OC. They've got a lot to prove and quickly.

    >>7. Minnesota William Joseph DT Miami

    Sure do hope so.

    >>8. Jacksonville Dewayne Robertson DE Kentucky-JDR goes Defense

I have him at DT. They have Stroud and Big John there, which should be enough. A DE makes sense across from Brackens, and of course to make sure there's rush when his lazy ass isn't hurt, but Suggs is the only impact player in the first round at DE.

Personally I'd put Wali Rainer at strongside, let Slaughter and Westmoreland fight it out for weakside, and draft Henderson. It's a fit with that D, with their DTs, with Del Rio, and one of the few places he can really fit in the top 13.

    >>9. New England Marcus Trufant CB Washington St-replaces Otis Smith, trade nets the Panthers the # 19 overall, a 2nd, and a 4th

Good pick for NE. But for the trade - I'd rather get the 14 and leave out the 4th, or give up a second and 4th and gain both firsts. But chances are, if you're looking to deal badly enough, you'll take what you can get.
I'd also be surprised to see us trade out with AJ there.

    >>10. Seattle Jerome McDougle DE Miami-

I'd be surprised. McDoug didn't have a good week and he's short.
However I don't really know where I'd go with the pick. Might be a good place for Robertson to go.

    >>11. Baltimore Andre Johnson

Can't argue this one or #12

    >>16. Kansas City Mike Doss S Ohio St-Chiefs have to stop somebody before they can advance to the playoffs

Kinda early since he's not complete.

    >>19. Carolina Kyle Boller QB Cal-instant upgrade in the position

I like it if that's how we go. Gotta come up with some good stuff with that extra 2nd, though, and I'd look into trading into the back half of 3 with two of those 4ths.

A thought that occurred to is that a natural trading partner could be Cinci and Houston. Houston takes Rodgers, and Cinci gets Kennedy. And Detriot would be screwed and would likely trade down to a team needing one of the QBs.

I'm thinking Hayens could end up higher. Like to Washington.

Overall I like, except for the Robertson to Jags thing. I don't think they let Andre Johnson fall, and they've got 2 #1s that are pretty productive at DT.

If for some reason one of the 2 QB's or Andre drop to us at 9 no way we trade down. Otherwise I could see us doing it and selecting Boller

I'd thought about AJ for the Jags, but the more I think about it, JDR is going to want to put his stamp on that D from the beginning. Robertson was the only guy on D that I could come up with for the slot.

    Guess I could have went:

    Jax Andre Johnson

    Sea DeWayne Robertson

    Balt Jerome McDougle
