14 lbs down in six days, now only 80 more to go. I am walking an hour a day vs. no exercise before, and have cut my caloric count from probably 6000 a day, down to 0 ;)

I plan to start eating again something next week, probably 1200 calories a day: low fat, generic slimfast and vegetables. I am 5"11, 248 right now, my goal is 170. I haven't dieted in 15 years, but I do feel better already. Of course, I am drinking a lot of water, and flavored water.

What are you consuming now besides water? You make it sound like you aren't eating anything and that isn't healthy either! Congrats on the weight lost and exercise though....keep it up but don't make yourself sick in the process.

I would recommend you pick up a copy of the South Beach diet and/or the new Weight Watchers. Both are excellent low fat/low carb healthy diets.

Good luck with the weight loss - it certainly takes a lot of will power. I have a brother who has lost about 60 pounds over the last 6 months or so and still has a ways to go.

I just got back on WeightWatchers again. I had gained 10 pounds of the 30 I had lost.

I don't know that I'd be comfortable starving myself to lose weight, though.

You are throwing your body into starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down. Any weight you lose in this manner will come back and pay you a visit and bring some friends along eventually.

170# on a 5'11" man that currently weighs 248 is unrealistic. Shoot for 200. Stabilize there for a few months and if you want to lose more, then set another goal and go at it again.

I'm lovin the weight watchers. The big turnoff for me on the whole thing is the meetings, so when I found out I could do it online, I jumped.

I couldnt be happier about it, and I feel good about the prospect of long term results.

We never did the meetings either. The online thing will keep you honest if you keep up with it.
