Musical "Worship?"

Nothing really Biblical -- just some observations of seances and the like.

 

I think I will stand by my claim that it is self delusion. You can play all sorts of tricks on yourself mentally if you want to.

 

Ah.....I used to live across the street from a spiritualist church. Those people were awesome. A regular Friday night was a sea'nce. I went to one once and it was one of strangest, yet exhilerating, experiences of my life.

I can't wait to attend the Festival of the Dead next year in Salem. All those mediums...w00t!

 

I don't disagree (about mental tricks), but even paranoids are right occasionally. The spiritual realm is very, very real and are often willing to contact those who are truly trying to summon them.

I agree that the spirit realm is real but I do not think people have the power to contact it not directly anyway. I guess it is possible though I have heard tales of demon possession and the like but I tend to dissmiss it. It sort of runs contrary to the whole free will doctrine. If God wont force you to follow him I doubt he is going to let satan or a demon force you to that side either.

 

Demon possession is cited in the Bible, Thelt, and I know clergy who have performed exorcisms. It's real.

Often demon possessions happen because a number of triggers have happened, first and foremost of which is an inviting environment.

Plus, a person can be freed from demon possession, even if they're forcibly taken -- it's not permanent. So in that regard, free will is still intact.
