  1. Let's face it, durability is a big factor in football now-a-days. If a guy can't stay healthy, you don't want him taking up all of your cap space....Michael Westbrook comes to mind...that guy just can't stay healthy. Didn't he break his wrist and our for all of camp already?

The thing about Moose is that he keeps injuring his hammies...to me that says that number one) he isn't taking care of himself and number two) the Panther's aren't making him take care of himself and number three) he has something in his anatomy that leads hims to be prone to injury in his hammies...kinda like people with high foot arches are more susceptible to achilles tendon problems.

It has nothing to do with pimping Muhammad. It's recognizing the fact that this has been a situation before, and may always be one. He's not to blame for our receiver depth and talent problem and it's not about supporting a player. It's history. It's an honest attempt at not being reactionary.

If he has an injury plagued season his situation is certainly tenuous. He may be asked to take a pay cut, he may just be cut. Then again, the same can be said about Fred Taylor, and Moose hasn’t missed nearly as many games.

Moose has missed 6 games in the past 3 years, 5 of those were last year, and none of those were due to the hammy problem. He did start all 16 games in 2000, and missed only 1 in 1999, even though he had the hammy flare up each year. He has played through the hammy, there’s no arguing that. And in all likelihood, it will flare up on him again, and he’ll play through again.

I’m trying not being cute, Shocker, I’m just expressing my differing opinion, and backing it up with facts. Chill.

His problem last year was catching the ball. I doubt if his hammy caused that difficulty. Most likely it was attitude and lack of concentration. IMHO he will get over that problem this year with the new coaches and the pot troubles. It's time for him to show and he will; simply because his career is over if he don't. We all know he can get the job done.

Paper this morning says "hammy" was caused by sprained ankle.
Ought to be good to keep him out of the heat awhile. With luck it should be better by cooler weather.

An Old Coot happy the confusion has started !!

I'm not concerned about Moose. Didn't Morgan have the same injury last year when camp started? He was fine until he broke his leg.

Tighness is no big deal, it tells me he's out there pushing it in practice. Walls, looks great, feels great, he was held out some too. Besides, it's the first camp the Panthers have seen with hitting and pads right off the bat.

Moose will be fine, no worries

    Piper,
I wasn't referring to you and I am chill. I respect your opinion as much as anyone here.

Again, Muhammed - IMO - has been very reluctant to play with pain. So there I do disagree with you. However, there are definately two sides to this arguement that I must acknowledge.

Is he hurt a little and out a lot, or hurt a lot and out a lot. Either way the guy misses time. Too much IMO.

    Cool.

He’s missed some games, some when he first came in, several last year due to toe. But he really earned my respect in 1999 and in particular 2000, taking a beating each week, playing all 16 games. He was having problems with his hammy both years, but only missed one game.

The injury last year that put him out was a bit more serious. At first they said it was turf toe, but then it came out that there were some ligament tears or something, so it was serious.

He's got an injury history, which is worsened because he's a physical reciever, so he takes a lot of hits.

It was a matter of him being held out, not being reluctant.
The games last year, those may have been mutual decisions, but 99's Atlanta and 00's Seattle were team decisions. Those decisions kept situations like last year's from happening.
