That's really interesting, because I think that people DO still think that way. Look at the Delta Force guys in Blackhawk Down. They did the same type thing. The guys in Glory - and the charge that they made was LESS risky than some others made by either army in the Civil War. Even guys at Chernobyl who realized that they were dead no matter whether they stayed or left literally worked until their bodies fell apart. They also kept the disaster from being REALLY bad. Flight 93.

I guess the bottom line is I still believe in heroes.

No it's the other way around jazz. I mean no woman wants a weepy wimpy man that cries at the drop of a hat. But to see a man cry at something that really moves him is sexy as hell.

I would have cried watching XXX if they had fucked up that GTO, but I did end up crying over Vin's acting. :laugh1:

That's a good post. The Delta force guys... Blackhawk Down was hard for me to watch. They were certainly brave, but what they were fighting for (comrades) was clouded by the uncertainty of the military objective (must we kill citizens to maintain peace?). I don't wanna turn this into a political thread though. You made a good point.

My wife just reminded me of this:

Or a rescue worker any day of the week for that matter. We do have heroes. Guess I'm too jaded sometimes.

Then again, I cry during coming attractions. Hell, I get choked up watching a "Very Special Episode" of Growing Pains.
