Movie Goofs

Discussion in 'TV & Movie Discussion' started by Tiorted Snoil, Nov 6, 2002.

  1. I can remember the opening sequence in The Shining where the car is being filmed from above traveling up the mountain, however, you could see the shadow of the helicopter.

I hear a lot of "was on the left hand side but in the next scene was on the right hand side" referring to all kinds of objects as movie goofs. I beleive these happen when using negative to "switch" view...maybe gutter can clarify that.

anyone one remember the Three Men and a Baby ghost? I guess it was some prop of one of the stars, one of those cardboard things that somebody tried to hide behind a curtain instead of putting away.

  2. In The Patriot...the battle of Cowpens shows Gen Greene planning the battle and Cornwallis leading his British troops. In actuality Greene and Cornwallis were not at Cowpens. The commanders were Morgan and Tarleton.

the helicopter's shadow was "supposed" to be in that shot... at least that's what was said in a past interview of the director

In the movie, "The Mask of Zorro" with Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas, someone left a legal pad on a desk in one of the closing scenes.

I thought it really was a ghost in that movie. Don't ruin it for me. As far as left hand right hand, I suppose it probably happens most of all from just reshooting a scene. In my last film I made there is a lamp that was placed for lighting then we didn't need it so the next few shots it's not there. Just hope no one notices.

  6. just to bring up something freaky. Last week on one of the TV news magazines, they covered the amitteyville horror case and why some lawyer thought it was faked. There was an investigation done at the time where they set up a camera to take a picture of the top of the stairs every so often. The only evidence that was ever found in that investigation was in one of the stills from the time lapse camera, a little boy dressed in pajamas with glowing eyes could be seen leaning over the railings. I tried to find that picture to post it but I couldn't find it.

    Why? Doesn't make sense.

I remember the kid in North By Northwest covering his ears before the gun shots in the cafeteria. That one sticks out.

  8. you can see the blades at the top the screen, too.

In the movie "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy and Dan Akroyd, you can see the bear trainers stick waving to get the bear to rear up on its hind legs.

I haven't seen it, but some one told me that for a brief instance, you can see part of the Arizona Memorial in the background in Pearl Harbor. Can any one confirm that one? I've heard that the movie had over 50 bloopers in it.
