Heh, I remember jamming to Peice of Mind in the 7th grade. I still kinda like Foreplay/Longtime.

Bad Company is one of the reasons I hate listening to Classic Rock Radio.

Gotta agree with reb, Afro. WTF? Morrison rocks. Doing what he did in a drunken stupor, well, that makes me respect him all the more. He could have sounded like Lumpy Bisquites or whatever.

I know, I know. I had a friend of mine, who was the biggest Doors fan, constantly gave me shit for slamming the Doors. It used to cause alot of tention. Like when people argue over religion...funny as hell though... :D

Everyone has their own tastes...I think Freak is out of his mind for thinking Jimi is overrated, but that's just his thing, I guess.

I thought Hendrix was overrated, but that's just me. I guess what I should have said is I hated his music - maybe as far as influence goes he was good, but I couldn't stand listening to him.

I never could understand the Zeppelin craze either.

I saw Hendrix on Johnny Carson one night. He was absolutely
swacked out of his gourd; he had no cool whatsoever.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed The Experience recording.
But that goddam Robert Plant....damn, I'd be embarassed to get up there and sound like that.:wasted:

    Black Crows-they SUCK!

Actually, it was in Charlotte. They opened for ZZ Top the first of a 2 night concert. They were fired by ZZ Top and never made it to the second night.

Ofcourse it had a little to with that "commercial free" rock-n-roll comment with that big ass Budweiser banner hanging over the stage, but if they we're any good, it would have been overlooked.

  7. Hands down, it's the beatles. I'm sure people think I'm going straight to hell, but if you take the music as is without getting into "influence" or anything, it's all varies from decent to great... BUT so many folks go off the deep end if you don't agree they're the absolute pinacle of music, which I don't think they are.

Pearl Jam doesn't get enough hype to be over-rated.

Nobody's fooled by limp bizkit -- they're all hype. Anybody that thinks they're actually talented is insane.

Jimi Hendrix died early enough into his career that people projected where he might go and sorta gave it to him. When I was a kid and everything was hyperbole, Jimi Hendix = Greatest guitar player ever. See beatles above.

Personally, I never got Van Halen, but oh well.

Motorhead confuse me. They don't get much hype at all, but then, the music sucks. Again, they're influential and all, but damn. Considering the number of times I see Lemmy's moley face, they oughta have a good song or two.

The Ramones. I guess I just don't get it or something. Again not the most popular band, but I could name 100 bands that are far better that nobody has ever heard of.

    Hey, this is fun!

You only count the Crows because you didn't see the god awful band that replaced them on that tour. I forget the name of that band, but they sucked.

I never got into Van Halen either that much.

Huey Lewis. Hands down the worst musician and singer in the history of music.

  10. I don't get the Grateful Dead and I certainly don't get Phish. Not exactly over rated from the popularity standpoint, but more from the rabidity of fans.
