What is the most memorable game that you've either seen, or attended?

My most memorable that I attended was the first game Curt Schilling pitched at Bank One Ballpark after AZ acquired him from the Phils. That place was electric, I had never heard the crowd there get so excited. We had pretty good seats, behind 3rd base, right beside the bullpen (Matt Mantei smiled at me) :mushy: Anyway, Schills kicked ass and we won the game. Coincidently that was my last game at BOB before I moved back to NC. :( At least I left on a high note!

Most memorable that I saw on tv was probably Cal Ripken Jr.'s record breaker, or Kerry Wood's 20 K game his rookie year. And well, I'll never forget game 7 of the 2001 series!

Most memorable game ever attended in person (that I didn't play in): I was at Mark Prior's first start with the Iowa Cubs (AAA Pacific Coast League): he struck out 10 and hit a pair of HR.

Actually, I'm not a Cubs fan at all, but the most memorable game I ever watched on TV was also a Cubs moment, I was home "sick" from school the day Kerry Wood struck out 20 Astros. I still insist Bill Spiers' hit should have been ruled an error and it would have been a 20-K no hitter.

Fransico Cabrera hits a single with two men on 1st and 2nd... Sid "No Knees" Bream comes all the way around from 1st to give the Braves the NL Championship win and a ticket to the series.

Not knowing it at the time it happened but looking back later I would say--Roberto Clementes hit off Jon Matlack in the final game of the season for hit 3000 . Clemente died in a plane crash on New Years day. He was flying to do aid work for earthquake victims in a third world country.

Also---Hanks 715th pop off Al Downing---Reggies 3 consecutive at bat homers in a series game, and Pete Rose breaking Ty Cobbs record.

Was in Atlanta when the Braves clinched in '91 and went from worst to first. At the end of the game the Giants and the Dodgers were still playing. They put that game up on the big screen and the players came back and watched it on the field with the fans. If the Dodgers, I believe, had won then there was a one game playoff. They got beat and the party was on. You could feel the stadium rocking under your feet. That was a gooood time.

going to my first pro baseball game with my dad. can still remember how impressed he was with roger metzger (?) (slick fielding, no hit ss for the astros). it was a good day with him.

listening to the 'stros every night on the radio while doing my homework as a kid.

most memorable play i saw was cesar cedeno on third in the bottom of ninth against cubs with jenkins (?) on the mound and a 1-1 score and two out (not sure there was 2 outs but it makes for a better story). fakes steal of home and gets balked home to win the game.

saw nolan pitch at least a couple of times and that was a treat to listen to him pop the leather and watch the batters tremble.

game against the reds and with a bunch of guys, drinking gallons of beer in the cheap seats and trying our damnest to get Pete Rose to climb the wall. got the evil eyeball a few times and a fake step like he was coming, which (I'll admit here but of course never did and never will to my buds) made my heart jump. ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE, you're still a prick!

going to an astros game with debbie d., the prettiest girl in texas. ya know i was striding tall.

three rivers stadiums with a bunch of pirates fans and the girl was hanging all over me. (that in of itself was memorable -- course it cost me half a paycheck and spending most of the day with her sightseeing and walking the mall -- one of the guys asked her what the plans were for after the game and she says "whatever he wants" -- i went speachless) i got a wild hair and started rooting for all i was worth for dale berra (?, yogi's son?) cuz all the guys with us told me that he was such crap. i'm a sucker for the trampled upon -- and besides i hated the pirates and enjoyed agitating their fans. three rivers is all looking at me like i've been out in the sun too long but fortunately berra goes something like 3 for 4 with a couple of extra base hits and makes a sterling play in the field and the pirates win. it was weird. the pirates fans were all freaking like he'd never hit the ball before and they just kept turning and looking at me like this can't be happening. course i was taking all the credit cuz i figured he just needed someone to cheer him on to get him going. everything was going right for me that night 'till the ride home. me and the girl come up on a young kid that had fallen asleep and just driven his car into the back of a slow moving semi. got to pull him outa his car and that memory still haunts me. after that, all i wanted was to go back to my room by myself -- and i prayed a lot.

spending tons of money to go watch the Braves beat my Astros in Atlanta. that night royally sucked. next time, i'm driving up to Detroit.

WERD! I just knew we had lost our shot. I still remember Andy Van Slyke standing in the outfield looking stunned (he had an incredible series). Barry Bonds was on that Pirate team as well.

The best game I ever attended was last year. I went to the Braves/Mets game....its was Damien Moss vs. Al Lieter. Pretty uneventful until around the sixth inning it was 3-3.... They just started going back and forth almost scoring runs. The game went 15 innings until Marcus Giles crushed a homer in the bottom of the inning.

Two sidenotes: It was a cool spring day with the sun out.......I got f'n burnt to a crisp. Second, Turner field is figgin huge. You truly don't get an appriciation for Andruw Jones until you see how easily he tracks balls hit in the gap.....the game would've been over in nine if not for him.
