most hated yankee, thats easy....bernie williams...or is the dreamy jeter......nope, damn sure its bernie

one of the most over-rated ballplayers there is too, yes his numbers at the plate are always pretty good, but he can't catch a cold in the outfield

    That's just dumb. He's a 4-time Gold Glove winner.

I will add this to that statement if it makes you feel better. For several years now, he hasn't been able to catch a cold in the outfield. How many years now has he had the bad knees? Great defensive centerfielder and bad knees. Thats a pair that doesn't come up too often in the same sentence. Of course, what do I know, I'm just comparing him to the Andruw Jones, Torii Hunters, and Jim Edmonds of the league. Compared to the rest of the outfield he's played beside, yeah, he would look like a gold-glover. He's in the lower tier of defensive centerfielders. As soon as Steinbrenner goes out and buys another, he'll make a great DH. Again, just my opinion. But then I thought I was posting so others could agree or disagree. Didn't realize I was posting just so others could tell me how dumb my ideas are.

Well now that you mention it, the last one he won was in 2000? (Right?) If you had said what you said after I said what I said then I wouldn't have called what you said dumb.:)

And get used to being called dumb and everything else around here. That could be just me, though. :D

I'm a Yankees fan, and even I got tired of Paul O'Neill.

Well yes, those few words that I added in the second post did make a world of difference. In all honesty, I didn't realize he had 4 until your post. Obviously he was doing something right. I could only think of 2. So I guess we both get partial credit on this one.

And as far as the dumb thing. Upon further thought, if thats the worse I get in a forum, then I'll be doing just fine. After all, its not one of the BAD 4-letter words.
    :D

And another thing. As I was checking his stats I noticed something. He sure hits a quiet .300+ each year. 7 straight. 4 of those .328 and above. I knew he was good at the plate, but until checking the stats I didn't realize he was THAT good.

Maybe my overrated plea doesn't hold as much water. Dammit, I hate eating crow. Especially Yankee crow.:anon: But at least I still got the fielding thing (last few years) to hold onto.
