I don't know what was most disturbing, but here are a few that top my list:

    The Exorcist
Once Upon a Time in America
    My Private Idaho
    The Aviator
    Saving Private Ryan

Excellent movie. One of the best I've ever seem though it's challenging. I know exactly what you mean. It's easy to mistake for a documentary, in which case it's extremely disturbing from that standpoint. Even though it's fiction, it's still true and 100% believable.

Yeah, I didn't want to even see that one. Who wants to see anyone, let alone the son of God, helplessly and mercilessly getting his ass kicked for 3 hours?

Yeah, I'll go along with that. At least the scourging scene.

It was about that, but in some ways it wasn't. There was a lot more there than just His suffering, just as it is in the Gospel of John. I thought it was a very powerful movie, although not one I want to watch all the time. In fact, I haven't watched it again since that one time in the theater, even though I own it on DVD.
