The most dangerous day of the week
    June 27, 2005

MONDAY is the day you are mostly likely to be injured at work.

Workplace injuries are 20 per cent more common on Mondays than Fridays, according to a report by CGU Insurance. The research showed that after Monday, the risk of being injured decreased and Friday was the safest working day.
Sprains and strains were the most common workplace injuries, while the lower back was the most common body part to be injured.

"Lack of sleep over the weekend and the effects of alcohol and other drugs may be contributing factors to the increased incidence of workplace accidents on Mondays," CGU spokeswoman Kristine Haseldine said

I rarely do drugs or alchohol on Sundays, now those Fridays make me a bit wobbly.

i wonder if people who get injured on the weekends tend to complain about it on mondays (like where HR is available).

They probably get injured right after saying... 'hey, watch this' and hold it over until they can get workers comp on Monday. Then, they cancel their doctors appointments and diagnostic tests for weeks so they can suck the system for every single penny.
No, I'm not bitter at all, why?

They are getting "injured" on Monday because they can claim Workers Comp with is first dollar coverage with no deductible. They work in their yards or play some sport on the weekend, get hurt, walk in the front door on Monday and say the strained their backs.
