Opinions are just that. Nothing more. I don't think anything I say is more important just because I say it. That's beside the point of doing this.

On the other hand, discounting something someone says, that has backing behind it, because you don't like the source, is foolish, too.

If you don't think that Magnus and I know a lot more about football than every single person on this board (except when Piper is around), then you're kidding yourself. Does it guarantee that we're correct when Magnus and I agree on something? Hell no. We both liked Jeff Lewis. Does it mean there is a very, very high likelihood of us being correct? Yeah, it does. When William F. Buckley and Gore Vidal agreed on something, you could pretty much lay money on it. Both made mistakes (and couldn't stand each other), but they knew politics better than 99% of the people on earth, and made arguments that proved it.

Sticks and stones, but you know it's true. There isn't a person in the world who ever asks themselves, "I wonder what Trashman thinks about the Panthers this year." Shoot, even your mom has me on speed dial for those tough-to-answer football questions.

Seriously, though, Collin does know what he's talking about. I really do hate it when he tries to draw a chasm between himself and others, in terms of knowledge, but to an extent it's true. I'm so fucking geeky about football and being in its depths that, as much as I hate it when he speaks of being above this or that, it's somewhat true. I put tons of work into being a football geek, and I enjoy it, but I do put a lot of work into it. Which is why it's hard to see, hmm...let's say Thelt, for instance, get swayed by some Charlotte.com article and suddenly decide that Taylor Stubblefield is the greatest player ever, or see people laud Randy Fasani that hadn't seen a single snap of him playing at any level.
