    No. I read the book and read reviews where the movie is just a certain timeframe from the book, not the entire story. I found the book very interesting, but can't see how they can leave out her early years of abuse, prostitution and incest and still develop the movie character enough to make the viewer fully understand her insanity. Anyway, I want to see the movie to check out Charlize's performance.

    muff, what's the name of the book, and who wrote it? I did a search on amazon for monster and it comes up with about 40,000 results. I was too lazy to keep looking for it. I'd like to read it.

    It's been a while since I read it, but I believe it was called Lethal Intent.
