Most Niners fans I know would prefer to play our "home" games in Halton since that is our "Home" arena. The only reason Wake & Maryland are playing us this year is to get a feel of Bobcats arena because the ACC tournament is there. I don't think any ACC team has agreed to play the Niners in Halton, except maybe one but I'm not sure about that. Still, cudos for Wake and Maryland for actually playing us although Wake will probably reconsider just like NC State did after the Niners beat them.

I do believe Clemson is scheduled to play the Niners in Halton next year, this year we go to Littlejohn.

Why would anyone want to play UNCC?

Win or lose it is going to bring your RPI down.

You'd say that if we were ranked in the Top 10.

I think its good when in state schools play each other. if the big 4 will play NC Central,UNCG,UNCA, A&T,etc, why not schedule UNCC? ( I guess Wake and NCSU have recently)

Because they know Charlotte will give them a close game. The last two Tar Heel games have both gone into overtime, we've beat State and now Wake. They see it as a no win situation, win and everyone says they were supposed to to but lose and it's like the world is ending. The RPI excuse is invalid. I think it comes to down to recruiting. If local Charlotte kids see little 'ol Charlotte getting good then they may decide to stay home.

UNC and Charlotte played in that '98 second round tournament game that went into overtime. That UNC team had Carter, Jamison, Haywood, Cota, and Williams. The second game was the next year in Chapel Hill and UNC had Haywood, Lang, Cota etc. Niners lost 75-73 in overtime on a last second lay in by Haywood.
