Spend money on monitors, and keep costs low on just about every other part of a PC. I had a 20" CRT way back in the day, then a 20" LCD, then the 2407. I LOVE that 2407, and I think the next upgrade will be a single 30" to replace my dual monitor setup. But that'll be a few years out, so these 3 monitors will have lasted me 15 years or so...

Yeah I'd really like to have a 24" LCD to replace my 21" CRT, but I could get two 19" LCD cheaper.

I have the 22 inch Dell and I'm more than happy with it. It also pairs really good next to my 1908 Dell (square).

Though admittedly I've considered switching the 19 inch and getting another 22 .

Found a couple of Acer 22" refurbs for $177 each. Hell, if they'll last 15 years that's a good deal.

I ordered the 24" Gateway. In the reviews I read it was just pretty much equal to the Dell but 200 cheaper.

Got the Gateway delivered today. It's has a very sharp picture, maybe sharper than my Dell at the office. However, it's sensitive to viewing angle. I believe it's a different screen type than my Dell. It's a bit reflective.

Enjoy. My wife got me a Samsung Syncmaster220wm for Christmas/Birthday and I love it.
