I have a friend who lives in Colorado who told me he has a modded XBox machine. He has a much larger hard drive on his XBox machine, has software on it to copy to te hard drive up to 10 rented games. With a flip of the switch he can play his original games still on XBox live. Anyone know how to do this?

so, I have software that lets me put at least 3x as many games on my ps2 HDD...

If you mod your xbox, go all out and get a modchip. don't try that soft mod stuff. It's not as magical as it sounds.

I got all that. DaveW is right, it's easy to get banned, but last time I was on Live it was a waste of time anyway. I guess I was spoiled by the online PC gaming experience.

Im glad RE4 came along, because I was tired of playing the same five maps, and getting called faggot every time a 10-yr-old kid shot me in the back and thought he was the man.

I've modded mine with an Executor chip and yes I still play on Live.

You have to install a new dashboard on your Xbox for the chip to function. The software also controls whether the chip has control of the Xbox or whether the Xbox boots using its old (MS) dashboard.

If you are playing on Live - you boot using the old MS Dashboard. Try and login with your mod chip activated and your account will get banned.

Almost any of the replacement dashboard software that you find will allow you to put your Xbox games onto the hard drive (via FTP) and play them from there instead of swapping DVDs.

Keep in mind - modding the Xbox is completely legal - its yours to do with as you wish, however, the second you crack it open the warranty is void.

not like it matters, but that's why I like modding the ps2. It has an easy access expansion port to put in a HDD and then the ability to load games to it through the ps2's disk drive. No need to even open it up to do shit.

I've still got a little time left before mine expires so I'm waiting.
