    SF Giants and Florida
I think that this is SF's year to win it all. Don't ask me why but I do. Florida had it's run SF in 4

    Atlanta and Chicago
Atlanta has some serious bats but I think I will take great pitching. Chicago wins it as series goes the distance

    Oakland and Boston
See the Atlanta referance. Pitching wins over hitting. Oakland

NY and Minnesota. NY is older but has a lot better overall team They are loaded at playoff tested players. NY in 5

SF and FLA......i gotta go with the fish. this team seem eerily similar to another marlins team a few years ago to anyone? they have nothing to lose in this one as the underdog. SF is expected to win hands down. the fish are peakin at the right time. my first round upset special......fish in 5.

ATL and CHI......great offense vs. great pitching. normally, you take the pitching. but with the pressure of the central division race the cubs staff is gonna be tired. add in their offense who has trouble putting up runs at times and its not a good combo......braves in 4.

OAK and BOS.....same matchup as above. again, i'm going against the norm here and taking the offense. too much firepower for the sox. a's will have to put runs up if they don't want to get swept.......sox in 4.

NY and MIN......could these 2 teams be any more different? big market yanks and the no-name twins. average fan can't name half the twins starters. i would love to pick the underdog in this one, but.....yankees in 4

    While I hate the Cubs....

...a Cubs Redsox WS would be bigger than the game of baseball itself. I would truly love to see that because of the long futility of both franchises--Bo-Sox no title since 1918. Cubs, no WS appearance since 1945. "Lovable Losers in Fall Classic," the headlines would read. Imagine the suicide watches in both cities when it comes down to game 7!

Oddly enough, I will be routing for all the teams I have chosen as the losers.

Atlanta over Chicago in 4: Lack of experience in playoff action will be the key. A lot of people give Dusty Baker credit for making Chicago as good as they are, but in the playoffs, the players win the game not the manager. Ortiz, Hampton and Maddux may end up being the best rotation when the postseason ends.

SF over FLA in 3: Just like Chicago, little post-season experience.

Minnesota over NYY in 4: Yankees offense may be trying to click at the right time, but I see Minnesota stealing a game in New York and winning both games at the Metrodome. Minnesota is a pesky team on offense. They will expose the vulnerable Yankees pen.

Oakland over Boston in 5: Pedro will win his starts in games 1 & 4, but can someone else from the starting rotation step up in the postseason?

agreed. I think everyone in the baseball world would love this also. The Cubs will win a series the next 5 years. They have 3 bonafide starting pitchers and the best manager in the game.

I think Bill Buckner should throw out the first pitch of game 7. :D

Do you know after Game 6 in 1986, he jumped in front of a bus, but it went through his legs?

Watch the tape. Even if Buckner had fielded that ball, no way in hell does Bob "the Steamer" Stanley make it to cover first before Mookie Wilson. And we know King of the Junky ankles Buckner wouldn't have made it either. Not sure if Dave Stapleton would have made it over to first before Mookie, he was pretty quick.

The media attention would be ridiculous if the Red Sox and Cubs made the World Series.
