    It's early, but here's who's eligible.

    Wish List for the Cubs

    Lock up Sosa long term

Sign Bartolo Colon and Andy Pettitte as #3 and # 4 starters

    Sign Luis Castillo at 2B

Sign Miguel Tejada or Rich Aurelia at SS

Sign Trevor Hoffman for Closer if healthy.

Wouldn't you like to be Vlad Guerrero about right now?

The Tribune Company won't even begin to spend that much money. Sosa is on the downside of his career, but still be locked up for 3 years.

    Luis Castillo, good
    Bartolo Colon, ok
Andy Pettitte, will not be available

    Braves wish list:

Re-Sign/Sign Kevin Millwood & Julio Franco.

Let Maddux, Lopez, Castilla, and Sheffield walk.
Trade Trey Hodges and Paul Byrd for an older backup catcher.

god i hope vlad goes to the yankees. sheff is the other mentioned for that RF spot. i have always liked him pre-braves, but i've really grown to like the guy these past 2 years. would hate to see him in pinstripes.

might happen tho. a year or so ago i read an article where vlad said he never wanted to play in NY or LA. he doesn't like the spotlight. his momma don't want him there either.

I don't know about some of those, but definitely Tejada and a closer. I'd also love for them go get Pudge. We certainly need an upgrade behind the plate.

Clement has always been mediocre or worse and Zambrano doesn't have enough games under his belt to get a good read on yet. He may turn into something, but he should be #5 starter or long relief while he develops. Choi should return at 1B and Patterson should return to CF, so those slots should be covered. Sosa sandwiched inbetween Tejada/Aurelia and Alou would be killer. Pudge will be out of their price range and they're already talking about him switching positions anyway, Javy Lopez may be the guy they look at there. If there's going to be one weak stick in the lineup, it'll be catcher should they stand pat. Grudzielanek is a FA and Castillo is the best available. There are several guys who are arbitration eligable who may make it on the market as well as those with player or club options as well. Potentially 1 in 4 players could be FA's this year. That in itself may help keep prices down.
