Minnesota's crowd could play a role in this... but the Panthers have one of those teams that aggrivate the hell outta crowds like Minnesota has... they SLLLLLLLOOOOWWWW the game down and grind it out taking the fans outta the game... the play of Howard IMO will be key, because he'll probably be expected to watch Alexander in Single coverage while Moss gets doubled down frequently... also look for the passing attack to be similar to last weeks... I'm still looking for More linebacker Blitzes on occassions to throw off the Opposing O-Line, it was VERY successful in the preseason I see no reason it won't work now

This week will be the real test for us to prove we can win against a DECENT team. It's a winnable game for us, we have to play smart and tough, and contain Culpepper. Hopefully Kasey won't miss any field goals, thet may be key for us to win.

Of course, even if we DO beat Minn., they'll say Minn is a weak team this year too. Guess we'll have to go to GB the next week to play a team that's pretty good for people to think that we're any good at all. Of course, then they'll say GB needs work and isn't the team they used to be, and we'll still be like 20th in the power ranking.

They will be saying we're the worst 4-0 or 3-1 team ever. In fact by the bye week even if we were to go 7-1 (highly unlikely- more like 5-3at best), they'll be saying we're the worse 7-1 team ever.
Hell, the worst 8-0 team ever......
I read today in the page 2 collumn where the guy says we're the WORST 2-0 team EVER. Could this be true? Are we the worst 2-0 team EVER?

It doesn't matter, tho, I'm just luvin two wins in a row- it hasn't happened in like forever, even if it were against cheer leading squads- a W is a W.

I liked what the guy said about the Bears. He never said they were a great, talented team. He said they were the scariest team tho, because the had a knack for bringing other teams who might be better DOWN to their level, then BEATING them. Now while that almost sounds like BS, I see where it could be true. Maybe if we could be in that category, I'd be happy, an ugly win is still a win, man!

BTW, what's up with ESPN putting a 0-2 steelers way up there in the rankings? Is it just wishful thinking since they had them penciled in fot the Superbowl, and don't want to appear blowing the call so bad? Maybe the'll just creap em down a coupla spaces a week.

The Vikings have allowed a league worst 725 passing yards in two games. The Panthers have allowed the third least with 261.

The Vikings are only behind Pittsburgh in the giveaway column turning the ball over 6 times going into this Sunday's game with a net difference of 8 behind the Panthers.

Randy Moss (9.9 avg) has only 25 more (receiving) yards than Muhammed (14.4 avg) and has had to do it on the strength of 7 more receptions.

When Fox last faced the Vikings, his defense shut them out 44-0 (I think). When the Panthers last faced the Vikings in the Metrodome, they won their only game of the season with Moss not registering his first catch until the 4th quarter.

Culpepper has been sacked 6 times compaired to Peete's 2. The Panthers have a combine 8 sacks compaired to the Viking's 4.

    This game is winnable.

Chamberlain is out for the Vikings. That will make them easier to defend.

This game is very winnable as long as we don't get cocky and think the game is ours before it starts.

he is? SO both he and Kleinsasser are? Hell. I mean their other wide outs aren't chopped liver but the call to go double-double and play man under is starting to really beckon.

did Terry Fair ever have any success against Moss when they were in the same division?

    hey lex, can I play?

Just read that cool article about the last time Fox met the Vikes . 41-0. I had forgot about that. That game pretty much set Fox up and started the decline of Green. I understand the talent level of NYG then to the Panthers now is a little different, but we matched up okay last year, and we're better now. We'll see.

And oh yea, as coinsidink may have it, the Giants were the 2nd ranked Def in the league at that time. Just so happens, the Panthers are ranked 2nd overall in Defense right now.

Yes. I forget where I read it but he did have success against Moss, limiting him to a couple catches.
I can't at all verfy that though.
