Lions president and chief executive officer Matt Millen spent about 15 minutes talking football with former Bears coach Mike Ditka on a Chicago radio station Thursday night and had some harsh criticism for at least one Lions player.

Ditka and Millen were talking about defensive players who do not like to make tackles, when the following exchange took place:

Ditka: "Anybody that won't tackle in the NFL, I don't think it's a lack of talent. I think it's a lack of courage."

Millen: "Well, I have a guy right now who I believe is a devout coward."

Ditka: (Can't be heard.)

Millen: "Oh, Mike, and he's the greatest practice player you've ever seen. He did a couple things today in practice and I sat there, and I just wanted to grab him by the throat and choke him."

Ditka: "Yeah, I know what you mean."

Millen: "Then you get into the game and it's like, 'Where are your testicles?' "

Millen did not identify the player he considers a coward and could not be reached for comment Thursday night.

No matter how bad it is for us Panther Fans at least we don't have this crap to deal with.

that's actually the funny thing. you go to Lions forums and people are arguing who the coward is, the thing is, there are about 20 prime canidates.

IMO, it is either Claiborne or Luther Ellis. If it was Ellis, he responded and had a huge game.

 

Todd Lyght IMO. Either way, Millen is a dumbass for making those comments. He won't be in Detroit for long IMO. What an ass.

 

the coward is: Scotty Anderson...a 2nd year WR.

Millen has a point, in practice and pre-season he looks like the best WR on the roster, then the game comes and he disappears.

 

When did we trade Sean "Puffy" Giblet to the Lions? Geez...
