PFW has Buffalo taking Mike Williams over Bryant McKinnie. I don't watch a lot of college fb (interferes with golf game) so I don't know much about him. Is he that good or has some concerns come up about McKinnie. All I have heard for months now is how great McKinnie is. Just looking for some insight.

Physically, much like his teammate from last year, Leonard Davis, but not as solid techniquely, and has struggled with speed rushers. Right now, he's a solid prospect for a run blocking right tackle, ala Korey Stringer. Buffalo needs a LT that can protect their QB, and Williams isn't that.

I'll second that Piper. Buffalo would possibly take Williams there if McKinnie is gone, but I would expect them to go a different direction and try for maybe a Levi Jones or Victor Rogers in the second.
I have Buffalo taking Carr in my pre-combine mock, but that doesn't take into account any trade downs or anything like that. Now that I look at it again they could take Henderson or Bryant there. I don't have Williams going until #17 to Cleveland.

I'd expect Williams to go earlier than that though. He's jumped ahead of Pearson in just about every site out there. I think Pearson is being undervalued, sure he's not a behemouth, but he's got the footwork. Always liked the quicker more athletic LT. Heck, Matt Light did a pretty good job, and some thought he'd be undersized for a guard.

At any rate, I have all 4 of the top Tackles going in the top 20, ending with Jones.

Too many guys get bent up about a guy who goes 300 and think that the guy won't run block well, as if run blocking is 100% leaning your weight on someone else. .

Piper, I was real high on Light last year and alot of people dissed me for it. Guess, I should be doing the dissing now...but, I digress. Knowing I was right is enough for me!
It's possible that four O-lineman will go top twenty, maybe even five, but I only see three OT's going that high (McKinnie, Williams, and Pearson) I have Rogers and Jones graded as high to mid second rounders at this point.
A guy to keep an eye on is Gonzales. I have him pegged as a high third rounder and someone will get a steal if he is still there late third or in the fourth. If he is on the board on day two, I hope we grab him. Great technician and super football smart, plus he's very athletic.

Jones had a superior Senior Bowl. I had him top 20 before the Senoir Bowl, and now more so. He played LT and shut down the speed rushers all week and during the game. Only Will Overstreet, according to a report on the Tennessean, beat him during the entire week of practice, and he did it only once. Alex Brown got shut down.

I don't know anyone that thought Light could play LT last year. He was there only due to injury to Klemm, but still, he did the job. I remember he was on TSN's falling list. Yet more proof of their not so expert analysis. Nice to have a good guard that can move over in a pinch. I liked him last year, not as much as Pork Chop. Mags, I remember you liked him quite a bit.

I'll take a look at Gonzales in the 4th. Definately if he survives into the 5th. Good idea.

Yeah, I did like Klemm and Noa. A good deal. I'm a little non-committal on what I think now, but they each still have the ability to be top notch linemen in the future. Don't know what the Chop is up to now.

OK. Pearson will weigh in at 310 at the combine, after working out every day. He should be in good shape, 310 and not a lot of fat. Some of the jerking around these guys get into is a bit silly.

As you indicated elsewhere, McKinnie at #2 makes little sense now.

Why's Pearson falling? I liked him about as much as McKinnie early this year. Or are the major guys rating players based on where they think they'll go, and factoring McKinnie's slide into it?
